Detained
Detained
Held here like a prisoner
Shackled in my pain
Can it be you will ever hear me?
Or do things just stay the same.
I am bound by my disbelief
I refuse to own this suffering
Jesus you took away my grief
With your sacrifice of dying.
I know and want to understand
As the world goes on with it’s living
Why did you choose me for this task?
Its way beyond my giving.
You tell me of dreams
That I cannot see
You come and visit them too.
Tangible though they may be,
I yearn to be with you.
Then I could peer down from this pain
No more tears could cloud my eyes
And I would give you all I have
A living sacrifice.
